Hey guys, I wanted to talk about more things related to gut health. So many of you are sugar addicts because you are stuck in sugar burning mode. You’ve lost the ability to burn fat, and I don’t have to really tell you that, right? How many of you have difficulty losing body fat? And the reason being is because you either are burning sugar (carbohydrates) or you’re burning fat. A lot of Americans, especially sick Americans, especially Americans that have thyroid issues, they are stuck in what we call sugar burning mode. They go from meal to meal to meal utilizing sugar as their primary fuel source.

Well, when you eat too much sugar, what happens? It turns into fat. Then that’s in our food, and on top of that, the fat that’s in our body, because we’ve got really metabolically challenged in terms of burning fat, it just sits there and accumulates over time. So, we need to change that physiology. One of the things that we can do is we have to heal our gut. We’ve got to get everything working better. We’ve got to gain the benefit of the nutrients that we’re consuming.

So, what we do is we recommend fermented products like raw sauerkraut, like kimchi, and kombucha. The company that makes my favorite kombucha is GT’s. It’s a living food, right? It’s a fermented tea, but they have different flavors. My favorite flavors are the ginger, strawberry, and then my absolute favorite, gingerberry. These kombucha’s, you can try them, I would tell you that about 80% of our patients love these things. There’s going to be some that don’t like them, try them though and see because it beats the daylights out of you consuming sodas and juices and things which are just loaded with tons of sugar. There are many different brands and flavors available. Try a few out!

The sugar that’s in them, most of it has been eaten up through the fermentation process, but the big thing is that it’s a living food. The bottom of it will have a bit of a brown look to it. That’s the fermented product, and that’s what really gives us the nutritional value here. The living enzymes and the probiotics, right? The good bacteria. That’s what we’re after. So, try these things, I think most of you will like them. I hope this helps, take care guys.
