Hey guys, I wanted to talk to you about magnesium. We use magnesium in my practice especially for people who have heart issues and those who have brain problems like depression. I was reading a study out of Larner College of Medicine at University of Vermont that showed some pretty amazing results on 248 mg a day of magnesium for people with depression. They were able to show that these people were able to reverse their depression symptoms by taking 248 mg of magnesium a day. It boils down to about $0.10 a day compared to the expensive and dangerous pharmaceuticals that are out there, where studies are showing over the long run they create more brain problems than they solve.
And that’s just in the brain. There are other effects throughout the body because these are toxins, right? Every pharmaceutical, every drug, has a side effect because they’re toxic. That’s the reason why. So, the thing that I always try to recommend is in addition to maybe a good supplement for a period of time, is concentrating on magnesium rich foods like dark chocolate, bananas, legumes such as lentils and black beans, and leafy green vegetables. Also, fatty fish, like wild caught salmon. In addition to getting the magnesium, you’re also getting an abundance of healthy fats, which is also brain protective and healthy for your brain overall.
So, those of you that are out there that are suffering with brain issues, look into taking magnesium. Things like depression, anxiety, and brain fog. But get your healthy foods also, for sure. That’s number one. Look for the magnesium rich foods. You can Google it, you’ll come up with a list of magnesium rich foods. It beats the day lights out of taking an anti-depressant, in my opinion from what I’ve seen. People who take these medications unfortunately they never seem like they get their health back. This is just an observation that I have noticed in 30 some years of practice. The hardest patients to help get their health back are the ones who are dependent on these mind altering type of medications.
I hope this helps.
Take care, guys. God bless.
